Kixx Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Kixx, a social walking game operated by Synapse Social LLC. Questions: nikko@synapsesocial.com.
Eligibility and Age
You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a Kixx account. If you indicate that you are under 13, we will not create or keep an account for you. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use. You must also comply with any higher age restriction imposed by your app store or local law. Do not use Kixx where its use is prohibited.
Your Account
You are responsible for your account, device access, and accurate profile information. Do not share verification codes, impersonate another person, create accounts to evade enforcement, or misuse Sign in with Apple, Firebase, or other authentication services.
Safe Use and Health Notice
Pay attention to traffic, terrain, weather, and your surroundings. Do not interact with Kixx when doing so would be unsafe. Kixx is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and should not be used for diagnosis, treatment, or medical decisions.
User Content and Social Features
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Synapse Social LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Kixx. You must follow the Community Guidelines. We may investigate, restrict, remove, or preserve content and accounts to protect users, enforce these terms, or comply with law.
Real Walking, Steps, Stars, and Virtual Items
Step data and game results may be checked for integrity. Stars are a virtual in-app currency earned through walking activity and eligible Kixx-supplied rewards based on verified walking results. Stars, Chests, Walkers, taunts, and other virtual items are licensed game features. They have no cash value, are not real-world property, cannot be exchanged for real money or prizes, cannot be redeemed or cashed out, and may not be sold or transferred outside Kixx.
You can earn Stars from daily Chests and eligible Kixx-supplied rewards, including Daily Rival, League podium, and League Road rewards. Cosmetics such as Walkers and taunts may be unlocked with Stars inside Kixx; the listed Star price is deducted from your balance. Star spending inside Kixx is final and non-refundable except as required by law.
Real-money Star packs and other real-money purchases are not offered in this release. Unused Stars are forfeited if you delete your account. Kixx may correct technical errors, reverse abuse, or rebalance future ratings and virtual rewards while protecting applicable consumer rights.
Trophies, Leagues, and Crowns (No Cash Value)
Trophies are a competitive rating that rises and falls with your placement in League rounds, Global Today, and Daily Rival results. A Daily Rival win can award a small fixed number of Trophies, currently 5, to the winner; nobody loses Trophies for losing a Daily Rival. Your Trophy total determines your League. Reaching Trophy milestones on the League Road unlocks one-time in-app rewards such as Stars, taunts, or League-exclusive Walkers. Crowns record first-place finishes on Global Today.
Trophies, Leagues, Crowns, and League Road rewards are in-app status and virtual items only. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money or anything of value outside Kixx, cannot be sold or transferred, and cannot be cashed out.
Step Competitions and Optional Star Wagers
Daily Rivals, Leagues, and no-stake challenges require no Star contribution. Optional Star wagers in Daily Duels and Squad challenges let participants voluntarily lock an amount of earned Stars shown before entry. Purchased Stars cannot be wagered. You can lose the Stars you stake. Eligible walking results determine the winner or winners, who receive the pooled Stars; these are not cash or real-world prizes. Tied Daily Duels return each participant's stake. Tied Squad winners split the pot, with any indivisible remainder allocated in stable account-ID order. Cancelled staked challenges return locked stakes to the contributing participants. A declined or expired duel invitation returns any locked stake.
Kixx may also supply virtual Star or cosmetic rewards based on verified walking results. Stars and rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money or real-world prizes. No purchase is necessary. Apple is not a sponsor, administrator, prize provider, or participant and is not involved in any Kixx competition.
The Competition Rules and any feature-specific rules shown in Kixx also apply. Kixx may investigate results and reverse, cancel, withhold, or refuse a result or virtual reward that appears abusive, fabricated, buggy, unsafe, or otherwise ineligible.
Fair Play and Prohibited Conduct
You may not cheat or misuse Kixx. Prohibited conduct includes GPS spoofing or mock location, fake or implausible step counts, automated walking, duplicate accounts used to gain an unfair advantage, harassment, exposing another person's private information or location, unlawful or abusive content, exploiting bugs, scraping the service, disrupting security, reverse engineering where prohibited, or unauthorized commercial activity.
Availability, Enforcement, and Termination
Kixx may change, pause, suspend, or discontinue features as needed to operate, improve, or protect the app. We may warn, limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms or threaten users or the service. You may stop using Kixx or delete your account at any time.
Privacy
Your use of Kixx is also governed by the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy and these Terms are available in the app and on the Kixx website.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account by tapping your profile avatar, tapping the Settings gear, then tapping Delete account. Deletion removes your account and associated active data as described in the Privacy Policy. Your Star balance is forfeited and has no cash value.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Kixx is provided on an as-available basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, a specific fitness result, or the accuracy of every device sensor or third-party service. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Synapse Social LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Governing Law and Changes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Synapse Social LLC, without overriding mandatory consumer protections where you live. We may update these terms as Kixx changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. When Kixx requires acceptance of a revised version, you must accept it before continuing to use account features.
